SUP board for recreation, tours and yoga

A SUP board (stand-up paddle board) is a long and wide plank you paddle standing up across calm water. For recreation on lakes and canals, longer tours, or yoga on board. We stock inflatable SUP boards from Aquatone, Aztron and JOBE, in lengths from 9'0" to 14'0" both individually and as complete package with paddle, pump, leash and bag.

Which SUP board length fits you?

LengthSuitable forUse
9'0" to 10'0"Children, teens, light adults up to 70 kgRecreation, short tours
10'0" to 11'0"Adults up to 90 kgAllround recreation, light yoga
11'0" to 12'6"Adults up to 110 kgTouring, yoga, advanced
14'0"Sporty paddlers, raceLong distance, speed

When in doubt, go slightly longer: more buoyancy gives more stability for beginners and heavier paddlers. Pair your SUP with the right accessories from our SUP pumps, SUP paddles and SUP bags collections.

Inflatable or hard SUP board?

The majority of our range is inflatable. That has clear benefits: easy transport (in a bag in the boot), safe winter storage, and surprisingly stiff construction thanks to drop-stitch technology. An inflated inflatable SUP board feels almost as stiff as a hard board. Hard SUP boards offer slightly better glide properties at speed and are the choice for competitive paddlers. For 95% of recreational users, inflatable is the more practical choice.

Frequently asked questions about SUP boards

Which SUP board should I choose as a beginner?

For beginners, we recommend an inflatable SUP board from 10'6" to 11'6" with a width of at least 32 inches (81 cm). That size gives the most stable platform to stand on, even in light chop. An allround model from Aquatone, Aztron or JOBE is ideal: these are designed for broad use and not too narrow or too long. Choose a package where paddle, pump, leash and bag are already included so you are ready to go in one purchase. Plan a test day in Joure if you want to try a board before buying.

How long does an inflatable SUP board last?

With good care, a quality SUP board lasts eight to ten years. Drop-stitch technology makes the material strong and resistant to pressure changes. Important: rinse the board with fresh water after each use, especially after saltwater or dirty water. Let it dry fully before storage and store rolled in its bag in a dry place, not in full sun or frost. Avoid contact with sharp shores, stones or branches, and do not paddle over sandbanks. Keep a good SUP repair kit handy for any small punctures or wear in the material.

What is in a SUP package?

A SUP package contains the board itself, an adjustable paddle (often three-piece for compact transport), a hand or foot pump, a leash that attaches to your ankle, and a transport bag with shoulder straps. Sometimes a fin and a repair kit are included too. With Aquatone, Aztron and JOBE Premium packages, a double-action pump is usually included that inflates faster. To upgrade your SUP kit later, choose a better paddle (carbon instead of aluminium) or an electric pump from our range.

Can I use a SUP board in winter too?

Yes, with the right clothing a SUP board can be used year-round. In the cold months, dry clothing matters more than thermal insulation: a drysuit or thick wetsuit prevents hypothermia if you do fall in. Gloves, a hat and lined boots make the difference too. SUP boards themselves do not need a winter stop as long as you do not store them in frost. Keep inflated boards indoors, deflated boards can also stay outside in a shed or garage. See our wetsuits for suitable clothing.

In stock? Order before 17:00 and it ships the same day. Otherwise, as soon as possible. Not sure which board fits your weight or level? Our specialists in Joure are happy to help.
