Wakeboard
Buying a wakeboard for the wakepark or for behind the boat? There is a difference in that. The difference between these boards is that a board for behind the boat is often very stiff and has fins. In our assortment of wakeboards, we distinguish between three categories: Wakeboards for behind the boat, Wakeboards for in the wakepark/cable course and All-round Wakeboards. In addition, we divide the boards into Good, Better and Best. The differences in these include the way the board is made.
Wakeboards for behind the boat
Wakeboards for behind the boat are often very stiff, have multiple channels and fins. These boards are easier to steer and have more grip on the water behind the boat. Suitable boat wakeboards are the Maddox and the Breach, these wakeboards are perfect for behind the boat.
Wakepark Wakeboards
A wakepark wakeboard often has a continuous rocker with no fins and no or virtually no channels. These wakeboards are optimized for use on obstacles because of the flex zones. If you use or want to use a lot of obstacles while wakeboarding, it is important that the wakeboard has a strong base. This is the core of the board where a lot of power is applied to obstacles. A suitable wakeboard for the park is the Conflict.
All-round Wakeboards
The all-round boards in the assortment are suitable for both behind the boat and in the wakepark. These are wakeboards where the latest technologies are applied. A good hybrid wakeboard is the Prolix.
Wakeboard Rocker
A rocker is the shape of the wakeboard, this mainly determines the sailing characteristics of a board. There are a number of different types of rockers/shapes of wakeboards. The choice of rocker affects speed, maneuverability, stability and the ability to reach altitude when hitting waves to suit different riding styles and preferences.
Continuous Rocker
A continuous rocker has a rounded shape which provides great speed and easy and short maneuverability. The even curvature of the board maintains a smooth ride, ideal for beginners and advanced riders who like stability. This type of rocker offers a smooth transition between turns and lets you glide effortlessly over the water, making it perfect for long, relaxing rides on the waves.
3 Stage Rocker
Simply put, the 3 stage rocker has three angles in the board. These angles allow the wakeboard to gain more height when touching a wave. The middle section, also called core, is flat. This ensures a firm and sticky landing when landing. The speed of a 3 stage rocker is slightly less.
Hybrid Rocker
A hybrid rocker is an all-around rocker. It combines the characteristics of both a continuous and a 3 stage rocker. This type of rocker offers the best of both worlds: the speed and maneuverability of a continuous rocker and the height and landing stability of a 3-stage rocker. With a hybrid rocker you have a versatile board suitable for different situations and riding styles, allowing you to always perform at your best.
Wakeboard Bindings
The bindings on the wakeboard are almost as important as the board. You have two types of bindings: an open toe binding and a closed toe binding. An open toe boot is suitable for beginners and those who like to share their board. A closed toe is suitable for someone who has their own board and wants to have optimal control over it. With a closed toe you have better control over the board on the water, making it perfect for advanced to professional wakeboarders.
Wakeboard Helmet
A helmet is essential when wakeboarding. Our high-quality wakeboard helmets offer you good safety and comfort. Hit the water worry-free with our helmets designed specifically for wakeboarders.
Wakeboard Length
When buying a wakeboard, the length of the wakeboard is important for its sailing characteristics. A board that is too large is less maneuverable, and a wakeboard that is too short can provide too little stability and therefore "unsettled" on the water.
Guideline for proper board length based on weight:
-
40 to 70 kg = 130-134 cm
-
60 to 80 kg = 135-139 cm
-
80 to 110 kg = 139 -144 cm
-
90 to 120 kg = > 144 cm
When buying a wakeboard, the length of the board is crucial to its sailing characteristics. A board that is too big is less maneuverable, while a board that is too short offers too little stability and can therefore be "unsettled" on the water. Below is a guideline for proper board length based on weight:
-
Less than 45 kg: < 130 cm
-
40 to 70 kg: 130 - 134 cm
-
60 to 80 kg: 135 - 139 cm
-
80 to 110 kg: 139 - 144 cm
-
90 to 120 kg: > 144 cm
Choosing the right wakeboard length will improve your performance and fun while wakeboarding.
