SUP trolley for beach and dock
A SUP trolley is a foldable transport cart that lets you move your SUP board, kayak or canoe between car, parking spot and waterfront across land without having to carry it. The range of SUP carts and SUP wheels includes models from EvoNautic, JOBE and Prolimit, with foldable frames and wide balloon tires for sand, grass and gravel. A good SUP cart is the difference between walking calmly to the waterline and wrenching your back with a twelve-footer under your arm.
Which SUP trolley fits your board?
| Model | Use | Suitable for | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| EvoNautic SUP/Kayak/Kano Trolley | Standard transport | SUP boards, narrow kayaks, canoes up to 50 kg | Foldable, weighs around 3.9 kg |
| EvoNautic Duo (2-pack) | Two boards at once | Families or two SUP riders | Cheaper as a pair, identical to single trolley |
| JOBE SUP Trolley | All-round SUP transport | Inflatable and hard SUP boards | Compatible with JOBE wheel system |
| Prolimit Surftrolley | SUP and (wind)surf | Wider boards, thicker rails | Surf-oriented build with wide balloon tires |
Rule of thumb when choosing: first look at the load capacity, because most carts handle up to 50 kg and that is plenty for an inflatable SUP board or compact kayak. Then check the tire width: wider balloon tires roll more easily over sand and pebbles toward the water; narrower tires are lighter and more compact for the car trunk.
Foldable and compact storage
Most SUP carts in the range are foldable and weigh between 3 and 5 kilos. That means you just take the trolley along under the car tailgate after use, or even stuff it inside a large SUP bag between your board and paddle. At the waterline itself: most models include a tension strap that you cross over your board or kayak so it does not roll or slide while you wheel it.
Frequently asked questions about SUP trolleys
What exactly is a SUP trolley?
A SUP trolley, also called a SUP cart or SUP wheels, is a cart with two balloon tires and a foldable metal frame on which you can secure your SUP board, kayak or canoe to roll it instead of carrying it. The trolley slides under your board with the nose just behind the centerline, gets fixed with the included strap, and then you pull the front end by hand. Boards of 10 to 12 feet are easy to move solo this way, even if the water is 200 meters away.
Does every SUP trolley fit every board?
Almost any SUP board fits the trolleys in the range because the frame is broadly adjustable and works for both inflatable and hard boards of roughly 27 to 35 inches wide. What matters is enough load capacity. Most models handle up to 50 kg, which is plenty for an inflatable 10 foot 6 SUP board (around 9 kg), a hard SUP board (around 13 kg) and even a light kayak of about 20 kg. For heavier kayaks or twin boards, the Prolimit Surftrolley with wide balloon tires is the sturdier choice.
Does a SUP trolley work for a kayak or canoe too?
Yes. The EvoNautic trolley is explicitly designed for SUP, kayak and canoe, with wide saddle arms that also support narrow kayak hulls. For most inflatable kayaks from the inflatable kayak category the standard trolley is enough. For hard, wider sea or touring kayaks the specialist recommends a trolley with larger wheels and higher load capacity, because the terrain at a kayak launch is often rougher and the boat weight is higher.
How do you fold a SUP trolley for transport?
Most carts in the range work with a quick-release mechanism: you flip the two side cheeks up, the frame collapses flat, and the wheels stay on their axles. That takes less than thirty seconds and yields a package of about 50 by 30 cm that fits in any car trunk. For longer storage, take the tires off so they do not get attacked by sunlight or frost; that is not strictly necessary but extends the life of the rubber. A good SUP pump and paddle fit together with the trolley in a standard SUP backpack.
