Paddles come in four material levels: Alloy as entry, Composite 2.0 as lighter mid-range, Carbon 40% and Carbon 80% as premium for lighter weight and better performance. For the broader SUP collection with hardboards and inflatables check the SUP collection, for loose paddles from other brands the SUP paddle collection and for the broader STX range the STX range.
Frequently asked questions about STX SUP accessories
Which STX paddle do I choose?
For recreational use and starters the STX Alloy paddle is the logical entry choice: strong, affordable and length-adjustable. The Composite 2.0 is a lighter mid-range option. For longer tours or frequent riders Carbon 40% or Carbon 80% is the upgrade — significantly lighter, which saves fatigue on hours of paddling. Hold the paddle length 15-20 cm above your own height.
Does the STX fin fit my SUP board?
STX offers two fin types: Slide-in for SUP boards with a Slide-in fin box (rail system) and US Box for boards with the standard US Box fin box (most inflatable boards from STX, Jobe, Aztron and Aqua Marina). Check which fin box your board has before ordering. The STX WS Back Fin is a larger course fin for more stable straight-line tracking on longer tours.
How much pressure should I pump a SUP board to?
Inflatable SUP boards from STX and most brands work at 12 to 15 psi (pounds per square inch, visible on pump gauge). Below 12 psi the board feels too soft; above 15 psi risk of seam damage. The STX SUP pump has built-in gauge and dual action for faster inflating. Always pump in coolness, not in direct sun.
