Sailing clothing care — maintain water repellency and breathability
Technical sailing clothing made from Gore-Tex, laminate or neoprene protects you from water, wind and cold — but only if cared for correctly. The DWR (Durable Water Repellency) coating and membrane system deteriorate with improper care. Use the right product to keep your gear reliable and long-lasting.

How to restore DWR step by step
- Step 1 — Wash: Wash the garment with a specialist cleaner for technical fabrics (max. 40 °C). No ordinary detergent, no fabric softener — residues block the DWR coating.
- Step 2 — Apply reproofer: Apply reproofer evenly to the clean, damp or dry garment by spraying or drizzling.
- Step 3 — Activate with heat: Reactivate the DWR using heat: 20 minutes in the tumble dryer on low heat, or iron gently on a delicate setting with a cloth in between.
