Pumps for inflatable boats
A reliable pump is essential for every inflatable boat owner. The range includes several options:
- Foot pump for inflatables - the classic foot pump for manual inflation, available in compact and standard size.
- Electric air pump 12V - connect to the cigarette lighter or battery for quick inflation without effort.
- Compact foot pump - lightweight backup for a day bag or dinghy.
Swim ladders and outboard trolley
A swim ladder lets you climb aboard easily from the water. The range includes foldable rope ladders, aluminium ladders in 2- and 3-step versions, and a heavier stainless steel version for larger inflatables. An outboard motor trolley with PU wheels makes it easy to transport the motor from the boat to the car or storage without dragging it on the ground.
Beach wheels, covers and davits
Inflatable boat beach wheels attach to the transom or keel so you can launch the boat from the beach without lifting. A boat cover protects the inflatable during outdoor storage, over a season or during transport. Snap davits are a handy system to hoist and secure a dinghy to the stern or platform of a larger yacht, available in configurations for the transom or platform.
Safety and other accessories
A stainless steel motor lock protects the engine from theft at unattended moorings. A bailer is a simple, handy scoop for quickly removing water from the boat. A bungee cord with a floating ball is used to attach paddles or small items to the boat so they don't sink if dropped overboard. Jetty guide systems are adjustable systems that prevent the inflatable or dinghy from drifting away when mooring.
Frequently asked questions about inflatable boat accessories
Which pump do I need to inflate my inflatable boat?
For an average inflatable of 2.5 to 3.5 metres with three or four inflatable chambers, a double foot pump or an electric 12V pump is the most practical. A single foot pump also works but takes more time and effort. The electric 12V pump inflates an average inflatable in 5 to 10 minutes when connected to the boat battery. Note that electric pumps generally don't exceed the manufacturer's maximum pressure; check the maximum pump pressure against the boat's recommended pressure.
What are Snap Davits and what are they used for?
Snap Davits are a lifting system used to secure an inflatable dinghy to the stern or platform of a larger yacht. You hook the davits into special eyes fitted to the bow or keel of the dinghy, and the boat is lifted above the water by the davit arms. The system allows you to launch the dinghy quickly without disassembling or folding it.
Which swim ladder fits my inflatable boat?
A rope ladder fits most inflatables with a railing or carrying handle. Aluminium ladders hook onto the edge or inflatable tube of the dinghy. Check the maximum load rating: a 3-step aluminium ladder is typically rated for around 100 kg. The stainless steel version is suitable for heavy use on the transom of a larger inflatable or RIB.
How do I protect my inflatable boat during storage?
Storage outdoors outside the season damages PVC considerably if the boat is unprotected. UV radiation yellows and weakens the PVC; frost can split inflated chambers. Store the boat in a well-sealing cover or in a dry room. Clean the boat before storage, remove salt and dirt, let it dry completely, and slightly reduce the air pressure so the material is not under unnecessary tension.
