What diameter for a boat steering wheel?
28-32 cm for smaller boats and inflatables. 35-40 cm for more comfort on larger boats. Allow at least 10 cm clearance around the wheel in the console.
Does any steering wheel fit my helm station?
Not universally standardised. Two common standards: 3/4-inch tapered hub and Ultraflex. A hub adapter resolves incompatible combinations.
How to remove an old steering wheel?
Set motor to straight ahead. Remove centre cap and undo the lock nut (27-30 mm spanner). Use a steering wheel puller if stuck. Never use force. Clean shaft and apply marine grease before fitting new wheel. Check the steering cable too. More in our boat accessories collection.
