The interior features a quick-drying mesh lining made from 100% recycled material for a fresh, dry base layer. In 1877, Captain Helly Juell Hansen recognized the need for better protection against the harsh Norwegian elements. He and his wife, Maren Margarethe, began soaking coarse linen with linseed oil.
