The Helly Hansen Men’s Skagen Ignite Orange Sailing Jacket is an all-round offshore and coastal sailing jacket that offers excellent protection for coastal and offshore sailing. The HELLY TECH® Performance membrane consistently keeps out wind and rain, whilst its excellent breathability ensures you stay comfortable during prolonged use on deck. The quick-drying mesh lining on the inside is comfortable to wear and reduces skin temperature during intensive use. Adjustable hood, hem and cuffs allow you to seal the jacket perfectly against wind and spray, whilst the fleece-lined collar provides extra comfort in cold and windy weather.

The high storm flap with extra fastening fully protects the zip in rough weather, whilst the fleece-lined pockets keep your hands warm whilst on watch. SOLAS reflective stripes on the shoulders and forearms ensure excellent visibility on the water, even in poor visibility. The striking Ignite Orange colour enhances your visibility to other waterway users and makes you a recognisable figure on the water. In 1877, Captain Helly Juell Hansen recognised the need for better protection against the harsh Norwegian elements. He and his wife, Maren Margarethe, began soaking coarse linen in linseed oil. This advanced process resulted in waterproof clothing for workers at sea, and Helly Hansen was born.

Working from their basement, the innovative and industrious duo worked tirelessly to create workwear for long days at sea. The Norwegian manufacturer quickly became an important player in the clothing industry. Just one year after its founding, Helly Hansen received the first of many awards at the World Exhibition in Paris.

The rest is a true Norwegian industrial adventure. In a short time, Helly Hansen increased production, built and purchased factories throughout the country and expanded its product range. Helly Hansen has produced everything from agricultural and industrial products to cork life jackets, gas masks and carpets.
