Kite parts for maintenance, repair and safety
A kite is technical equipment with multiple components that can suffer wear and damage after intensive use or a hard landing. Having the right spare parts to hand keeps your kite in optimal condition for longer and ensures you never have to miss a session because of a broken part. From safety components to wear items: see also the full range in our kitesurf collection, kites and kitesurf accessories.

| Mast foot T-nut | Repair of the binding point on foil and surfboards |

Safety parts: leash and knife
A kitesurf leash is required at some spots and always sensible: if your board blows or drifts away after a fall, the leash pulls it back. Make sure the quick-connector operates smoothly and check the strap each season for wear. A safety knife is not an accessory but a safety device: always wear it on your harness, even if you think you will never need it. If lines become entangled, a knife that is immediately to hand is the only way out. Choose a knife with a line cutter that can be opened even with gloves and wet hands.
Maintenance and repair: adapters, bar lever and bladder
Nozzle adapters wear out after seasons of intensive use and can begin to leak or no longer seat properly on the pump hose. Replace them promptly because a poorly inflating kite costs session time. Bar levers affect depower control; a stiff or broken lever reduces control over your kite. A leaking bladder or strut is immediately noticeable: the kite loses its shape and flies unstably. Small leaks can be repaired with a kite repair kit; larger tears or structural damage require professional help or full bladder replacement. Replace parts before a defect puts your session or safety at risk.
Frequently asked questions about kite parts
How do I know which part I need for my kite?
Consult the manual for your kite; the brand and model are usually on the kite itself or in the documentation supplied. Parts such as leashes and knives are largely universal. Nozzle adapters and bar levers are more often brand-specific. Note the brand, model and year of your kite before ordering a spare part.
When should I replace my kitesurf leash?
Check the leash at the start of each season and during the season under intensive use. Look for cracks in the material, wear at the connection points and operation of the quick-connector. If the connector no longer operates smoothly or the strap shows signs of weakening, replace the leash immediately. A defective leash fails exactly when you need it.
How do I repair a leaking bladder or strut in my kite?
Use a kite repair kit with PVC adhesive and a transparent or tinted patch that matches the material of your kite. Make sure the surface is completely dry and clean before applying the patch. Small punctures can be repaired well; larger tears or damage at the valve connection require professional help or replacement of the bladder.
Is a safety knife legally required for kitesurfing?
Not legally required in the Netherlands, but strongly recommended by all kitesurf instructors. At some spots and kitesurf clubs wearing a knife is required by the site operator. A knife can be life-saving in an emergency when lines become tangled. Make carrying it standard practice.
