The Helly Hansen Men’s Pier 4.0 Ochre Yellow Sailing Jacket is a versatile coastal sailing jacket designed specifically for active sailing close to the coast. The HELLY TECH® Performance membrane keeps wind and rain out, whilst its excellent breathability ensures you stay comfortable during prolonged use on deck. The articulated sleeves provide maximum freedom of movement when trimming, tacking and working on deck, without the jacket pulling or restricting movement. Adjustable cuffs and hem seal the jacket tightly against wind and spray, whilst the soft tricot collar is comfortable to wear even without a jumper underneath.

The fold-away neon hood is quick to deploy as soon as the weather turns and is SOLAS-certified for extra visibility and safety on the water. The functional pockets feature drainage holes so your belongings stay dry, even when the jacket is wet. Made from sustainable recycled material, the Pier 4.0 combines environmental awareness with high-performance features. In 1877, Captain Helly Juell Hansen recognised the need for better protection against the harsh Norwegian elements. He and his wife, Maren Margarethe, began soaking coarse linen in linseed oil. This advanced process resulted in waterproof clothing for workers at sea, and Helly Hansen was born.

Working from their basement, the innovative and industrious duo worked tirelessly to create workwear for long days at sea. The Norwegian manufacturer quickly became an important player in the clothing industry. Just one year after its founding, Helly Hansen received the first of many awards at the World Exhibition in Paris.

The rest is a true Norwegian industrial adventure. In a short time, Helly Hansen increased production, built and purchased factories throughout the country and expanded its product range. Helly Hansen has produced everything from agricultural and industrial products to cork life jackets, gas masks and carpets.
