Frequently asked questions about STX windsurf
Which STX mast with which sail?
For wave and freestyle under 7.0 m² pick an RDM mast (C40 RDM or C60 RDM). For freeride and freerace 5.5-8.5 m² both RDM and SDM work. For cam sails and large freerace from 8.0 m² go to SDM (C40 SDM or C60 SDM). C60 with 60% carbon is lighter and stiffer than C40 with 40% carbon.
What's the difference between C40 and C60 mast?
The number is the carbon percentage. C40 (40% carbon) is the entry choice: strong, affordable and good for rough use, ideal for learners and recreational windsurfers. C60 (60% carbon) is lighter and stiffer for better performance for progressing riders and frequent riders.
Does the PowerKid Rig fit a 6-year-old?
The PowerKid Rig is designed for kid windsurfers from 4 to 10 years (about 20-40 kg). For 6-year-olds this is the ideal first own rig, especially combined with a wide entry board like an inflatable WindSUP. From about 12 years the step is to adult equivalent HD2 Rig with smaller sail size 3.5-4.0 m².
