The Tohatsu 6 hp sail pro long-tail is specially made for sailboats. The tail is longer than a standard long-tail. This outboard motor is also suitable for boats where the transom sits high above the water.

The powerful Tohatsu 6HP is compact and lightweight. The outboard engine is very easy to operate. Giving throttle is easy with the control stick which is on the front of the outboard engine. You easily switch between neutral, forward and reverse with the control lever mounted on the front of the engine.

Internally, the engine is very well equipped. The housing of the water pump is made of stainless steel which makes it last longer. On the tailpiece is an anode that protects the engine from corrosion. The cooling system is thermostatically controlled which ensures that the engine never gets too hot. High quality aluminum alloy is used and all internal passages are coated with zinc which protects the engine internally from corrosion.

There are several safety features. The engine has an oil pressure indicator so there is never too little oil. The engine has a deadman cord so that the engine will shut off if the operator falls overboard. There is a start protection device so that the engine can only be started when the outboard motor is in neutral.
