The Tohatsu 15 HP Outboard Long-Tail is suitable for sailboats and boats where the transom is far from the water. For dinghies, we recommend choosing a short-tail outboard motor.
The Tohatsu 15 hp is a very powerful outboard engine. This outboard engine uses fuel injection which makes it a very strong and reliable outboard engine. This engine has a very favorable fuel consumption and it has an excellent horsepower-to-weight ratio. The new design is a compact and robust design.
Internally, the engine is very well equipped. The housing of the water pump is made of stainless steel which makes it last longer. On the tailpiece there is an anode that protects the engine from corrosion. The cooling system is thermostatically controlled which ensures that the engine never gets too hot. A high quality aluminum alloy is used and all internal passages are coated with zinc which protects the engine internally against corrosion.
