Identifying 2-Stroke and 4-Stroke Engines
A 2-stroke engine requires oil mixed into the fuel or supplied via an oil pump. A 4-stroke engine has a separate oil reservoir and a dipstick — similar to a car engine. If in doubt, the engine type is printed on the type plate on the motor.
