What is the difference between a front-zip and a back-zip wetsuit?
A back-zip wetsuit has a long zip down the back and is the easiest to put on. A front-zip wetsuit has a shorter zip at the front or a keycord closure at the neck. Front-zip is popular with kitesurfers because the back panel is seamless, which reduces cold water entry through the zip seam and better distributes harness pressure. The Mystic Star Freezip combines a front-zip YKK zipper with a fleece lining for extra warmth at the chest and lower back.
How do I care for my Mystic wetsuit?
Rinse the wetsuit after every session with lukewarm fresh water, inside out, to remove salt and sand. Hang it on a wide hanger in the shade to dry — never on a narrow wire hanger that distorts the shoulders. Do not store the wetsuit folded in a bag in the heat. Use a specialist wetsuit cleaner twice a season for a thorough wash and lubricate the zip with zip wax to prevent stiffness and corrosion. A well-maintained wetsuit lasts two to four seasons.
