A JOBE wakeboard is a twin-tip plank that lets you glide and jump across the water behind a motorboat or at a cable park. What wakeboard length do I need?
The right length depends on your body weight. A board that's too short ploughs through the water, a board that's too long is slow to react to edge changes.

Rocker and core: for which water?
The shape of the board under your feet is called the rocker. A continuous rocker is a smooth curve that combines speed and agility, ideal for beginners and cruising. A three-stage rocker has a flat midsection and upturned tips for explosive pop on the wake. A hybrid rocker sits between the two. For cable parks with obstacles you want a hybrid or three-stage with a strong core such as the Breach (wood/foam) or Maddox (foam). For soft landings behind the boat a continuous foam core like on the Vanity is comfortable.
Open toe versus closed toe bindings
You fasten a wakeboard with open toe or closed toe bindings. Open toe bindings like the JOBE Maze, Republik and Host have an open toe area and fit several shoe sizes, handy when family or friends join in. Closed toe bindings like the Nitro and Charge fully enclose your foot for maximum control on tricks and are mainly for a regular rider. Don't forget a life jacket and a wakeboard rope.

What wakeboard length do I need?
The right board length depends mainly on your body weight and skill level. Riders up to 70 kg pick a 130 to 134 cm board such as the JOBE Jinx or Vanity 131. Between 60 and 80 kg you go to 135 to 140 cm: the Logo 138 or Maddox 138 are popular choices. Above 80 kg you pick 139 to 144 cm, and for riders over 90 kg a 144 cm or longer board pays off. Just starting? Pick something at the longer end within your weight class for stability. Mainly want to jump and trick? A shorter board reacts faster but requires more balance.
What's the difference between behind the boat and at a cable park?
Behind the boat you ride a generated wake that serves as a kicker, at speeds between 30 and 40 km/h and a calm pull. At a cable park you're pulled by a fixed line at constant speed (usually 30 km/h) and there are obstacles like kickers, sliders and boxes. For boat use pick a board with sharper rails and good pop on the wake, for cable park a board with ABS sidewalls that resists scraping on rails. The JOBE Breach and Maddox can do both; the Vanity is slightly more boat-oriented.
What is included in a JOBE wakeboard package?
A JOBE wakeboard package contains the board with matching bindings mounted on it, ready to take to the water. Popular combinations are the Maddox 138 with Host bindings, the Breach 143 with Nitro or Republik and the Vanity 131/136/141 with Maze or Unit. You match board length to your weight and bindings to your shoe size. You buy a wakeboard rope and a floating handle separately. A wakeboard bag with wheels makes transport much easier.
How often should I replace the bindings?
JOBE wakeboard bindings last five to eight seasons under normal use. Rinse them after every session with fresh water and let them hang dry, not folded in a hot car trunk. Check annually that the screws are still tight, that the buckles are intact and that the EVA inner padding isn't crushed. Does the fit feel loose or the heel no longer right? Time for new ones. You can replace the bindings separately on your existing board as long as the screw pattern and holes match; with JOBE that's universal within the brand.
