Boero Mistral Fondo Antifouling Primer is a single-component chlorinated rubber primer used as a strong, waterproof bonding and sealing coat below the waterline. The product has been specially developed to seal existing or unknown antifouling coatings, thereby forming a reliable base for new paint systems and antifouling.
Thanks to its high film thickness, Mistral Fondo offers excellent protection against water ingress and provides a durable barrier between the hull and the water. The primer can be applied to steel, wood and polyester and is suitable for use both below and above the waterline.
In addition, the primer adheres well to various substrates and old paint layers, making it an ideal ‘intermediate coat’ in boat renovation projects where the substrate is not fully known. Once cured, it forms a solid base for antifouling such as Boero Scirocco.
