Helmet, glasses or gloves: what do I need?
The choice depends on what you do on the water. A helmet makes sense as soon as you practise tricks behind the boat or at a cable park, especially with obstacles. For wakeboarders a good protection set is indispensable; combine with a JOBE wakeboard and matching bindings. Polarized sunglasses with a floating strap keep your view sharp and your glasses dry. Neoprene gloves give warmth in spring and autumn, grip or suction gloves give extra hold on a handle or rope during intensive water sport. Frequently asked questions about JOBE protection
When do I need a water sport helmet?
A water sport helmet is strongly recommended at cable parks with obstacles (kickers, sliders, boxes), behind the boat during trick sessions, on a jet ski and when wakesurfing close to the boat. Many cable parks make it mandatory. The JOBE Base and Victor helmets are light (around 400 grams), well-ventilated and have an interior that keeps the head dry. They fit clothing sizes S to XL and suit both adults and younger riders. For recreational paddling or SUP a helmet usually isn't necessary, but in busy waterway traffic or rocky entry points it can help.
What are polarized JOBE sunglasses?
Polarized means the lenses filter out reflections from the water, so you see better what's below the surface and your eyes get less fatigued in bright light. The JOBE Cypris and Knox are water sport sunglasses with polarized lenses, a floating frame or included floating sunglass strap, and UV400 protection against harmful UV light. Ideal for boating, SUP, fishing and sailing. The Knox in White, Blue or Silver has a sportier silhouette; the Cypris in Black or Silver a more casual look. Both models are rubber-lined for extra grip.
