How to clean a PVC inflatable?
PVC is sensitive to aggressive cleaners and UV damage. Never use acetone, bleach or washing-up liquid as these damage the material and accelerate yellowing. Choose a cleaning set specifically formulated for PVC. It removes salt deposits, green algae and grease streaks without damaging the material. Rinse with clean water and let the boat dry completely before storage. More accessories in our boat accessories collection.
Frequently asked questions about boat polishing
How often should I polish my boat?
Wash after every use in salt water to remove salt crystals. Wax at the start and end of the season. Inflatables also benefit from a seasonal treatment with cleaner and UV protection.
Difference between wax shampoo and hard boat wax?
Wax shampoo combines cleaning with light protection in one step, ideal for regular maintenance. Hard boat wax gives a thicker, longer-lasting protective layer. More work but better UV and salt resistance. Hard wax is the better choice for boats that stay in the water all season.
Can boat washing products be used on the engine?
No, hull cleaners are not suitable for engines, exhausts and metal engine components. Use engine-specific sprays or degreasers rated for high temperatures. Also flush the outboard through the cooling water inlet after salt water use to remove salt from the cooling system.
